Dr. Snow and the team at St. Louis Bariatrics take great pride in helping patients achieve greater health, happiness and self-esteem through bariatric surgery.
The ORBERA™ Gastric Balloon is a non-surgical procedure performed by Dr. Snow and the team at St. Louis Bariatrics for patients who have tried to lose weight with diet, exercise and other programs, but have been unable to lose weight or unable to maintain weight loss.
The Gastric Sleeve, also called the sleeve gastrectomy, is a safe and effective weight loss surgery. In a sleeve gastrectomy, the size of the patient’s stomach is reduced, leading to a restricted calorie intake. Dr. Snow utilizes laparoscopic technique to perform the procedure, using only tiny incisions and a high definition camera to guide instruments. Laparoscopic surgery can result in less postoperative pain and a quicker recovery time for patients.
Gastric Bypass, also known as Roux en Y Gastric Bypass, is a widely studied surgery that is proven to be extremely effective for weight loss and treatment of obesity related medical conditions. Dr. Snow is skilled in the latest surgical advancements and is able to perform this procedure using the laparoscopic technique which results in less postoperative pain, fewer narcotics used, shorter hospital stay, and quicker return to activities of daily living.
Dr. Snow performs the adjustable gastric band, most commonly known as the LAP-BAND®, is a procedure that restricts the amount of food that a person can eat. Similar to the sleeve gastrectomy, the LAP-BAND® is performed without re-routing the small intestine. However, different than both the sleeve gastrectomy and the gastric bypass, the band is performed without dividing the stomach or entering the G.I. tract.
