Vinita Dhir Tandon, MD

As the Medical Director of the Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy JumpstartMD program, Dr. Tandon is board certified in endocrinology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and brings a wealth of clinical and research experience to our team. Vinita was educated first at Boston University where she graduated magna cum laude and then Boston University School of Medicine where she earned her doctorate. Her endocrinology fellowship was earned at Harbor UCLA Medical Center while additional postgraduate training and research experience were obtained at, Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center, Boston Medical Center and Harvard Medical School. For the past 14 years, primarily at Endocrinology Physicians Group in Mountain View, California, Vinita has operated private practices where she honed her endocrinology talents and improved countless lives.

Sean Bourke, MD
Co-Founder & Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Bourke is JumpStartMD co-founder and Chief Medical Officer. As a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and former emergency medicine physician, Sean is driven by a strong interest in preemptive medicine, weight management, and medical and lifestyle interventions tailored to prevent and reverse diabetes and metabolic syndrome. Board certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine, Dr. Bourke served in the Air Force as Medical Director and Assistant Research Director in the Departments of Emergency Medicine, respectively, at David Grant and Wilford Hall Medical Centers. He completed his undergraduate degree in history at Yale College, earned his medical degree and graduated with Highest Distinction from the University of Southern California School of Medicine and thereafter completed his residency at Stanford.

Ronald Krauss, MD
Medical Director, Center for Cardiometabolic Health
Dr. Krauss is Senior Scientist and Dolores Jordan Endowed Chair at Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute, Professor of Medicine at UCSF, and Adjunct Professor of Nutritional Sciences at UC Berkeley. Ron received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Harvard University and served his medical internship and residency at the Harvard Medical Service of Boston City Hospital.

Dr. Krauss received postdoctoral training at the National Institutes of Health and is board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology and metabolism. He is a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation, a Fellow of the American Society of Nutrition and the American Heart Association (AHA), and a Distinguished Fellow of the International Atherosclerosis Society. He has served on the U.S. National Cholesterol Education Program Expert Panel on Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Cholesterol in Adults, was the founding chair of the AHA Council on Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Metabolism, and is a National Spokesperson for the AHA.

Ron has also served on both the Committee on Dietary Recommended Intakes for Macronutrients and the Committee on Biomarkers of Chronic Disease of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), and was a reviewer for the NAS Report on Optimizing the Process for Establishing the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. He has received numerous awards including the AHA Scientific Councils Distinguished Achievement Award, the Centrum Center For Nutrition Science Award of the American Society for Nutrition, the Distinguished Leader in Insulin Resistance from the International Committee for Insulin Resistance, and the AHA Award of Meritorious Achievement. He has been on the editorial boards on a number of journals has published over 450 research articles and reviews on metabolic, genetic, dietary, and drug effects on plasma lipoproteins and coronary artery disease risk.
