About Us

  • I see flowers as a gift and a privilege and I love them for their simple natural beauty. Every time I start a floral arrangement, I recognize the flowers travel to us through the efforts of many. Each arrangement is the result of many farmers who spend their lives cultivating flowers, others who pick, pack, ship and sell their bounty, and those who prepare, design, and deliver our flowers. These human efforts combined with the elements and cycles of nature, to bring us our daily work.

Growing up I loved to pick flowers out of my Mom’s flower beds and make flower arrangements. As a seven year old the designs that I created were anything but extraordinary. I would make the arrangements over and over and most of the petals would be gone by the time I was done. In the end, my mom was always thrilled with the arrangements and put them prominently on display on the kitchen table.

When I got into high school, my ag teacher taught the floral design class at the school. She tied floral design into many projects and fundraisers throughout the year and I always loved it. We made boutonnieres and corsages for all high school events, Christmas wreaths and Valentine’s bouquets to sell as fundraisers and we even got to help out with a couple weddings.

In college, I enrolled in a couple floral design and horticulture courses (or as my dad would call it basket weaving). While in college, I had a couple friends getting married and they asked me to do the flowers for their weddings. Luckily both of them only wanted roses and I was able to complete all the bouquets, boutonnieres, and centerpieces without a hitch.

Just a few months after I graduated from college, I started my first floral design business where I focused mostly on weddings and events. I would take over the garage, kitchen, guest room, and back patio with all of the décor. My husband put up with this for 2 years before he kicked my business out of the house and forced me to open my shop. Flower Bar was born!

My idea for Flower Bar was simple. I wanted to sell unique local flowers and arrangements. My mom sells invitations in the shop and I manage the flowers with the help of my amazing staff!
