BHOA was founded by Dr. Charles "Jack" Lusch in 1968. Dr. Lusch was in private practice from then until the present. Dr. Harry E. Ramsey, Jr. joined Dr. Lusch in 1974, followed by Dr. Teresa M. Mercurio in 1978 (she retired in 2001), Dr. Nick C. Leasure in 1989, Dr. Terrence P. Cescon in 1994, Dr. Simi Rai in 2001, and Dr. David Lu in 2003.
