Anybody can do Bikram Yoga - any age, size, shape or condition. It is accessible and non-exclusive. The series systemically works 100% of the entire body. The benefits include stress reduction, increased stamina, mental clarity, flexibility, weight reduction and balance. Bikram Yoga is also effective to aid injury rehabilitation and to complement peak performance training. Expect to burn ~600-1,000 calories per class, depending on your work rate. We heat the room up to allow the body to become more pliable. In conjunction with the heat, Yoga changes the construction of the body from the inside out. A warm body is a flexible body and a flexible body is easier to reshape. The heat also aids in warming the muscles and increasing the extensibility of body tissues, allowing for deeper stretching. The heat also heals, helps prevent injuries and promotes sweating which flushes toxins from your body. The end result is an unparalleled feeling of mental and physical well-being. All Bikram Yoga instructors have successfully completed a total-immersion nine-week training course led by Bikram Choudhury and are certified to teach the unique 26 posture series.
