• General Surgery is a discipline that requires knowledge of and familiarity with a broad spectrum of diseases that may require surgical treatment including gallbladder diseases, hernias, trauma and more.Dr. Brian Christensen has been practicing in Rexburg, Idaho since 1998 and has the skills and experience needed to ensure a safe and effective surgery.Surgery can be performed in the office, the surgical center, or at Madison Memorial hospital depending on your desire and/or Dr. Brian Christensen is a home grown native of Rexburg, Idaho. He grew up on a dairy farm in the Hibbard area. He attended Ricks College and then completed his under graduate education at Utah State University. He considers himself fortunate to be able to receive his medical doctorate from the University of Utah in 1993. His surgical training was then obtained in Phoenix, Arizona.Brian's interests outside of medicine include Gardening, Growing giant pumpkins (largest 1,071 pounds), hunting, fishing, and hiking. Fellow of the American College of Surgeons often listed as "FACS", is a title used to indicate that the surgeon's education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with the high standards established and demanded by said College. In order to apply for membership, a surgeon typically must be certified by a member board of the American Board of Medical Specialties.
