Specializing in vocal mechanics and artistry, Carolena Mátus employs her 30+ year vocal expertise teaching beginning voice students in private weekly voice lessons, encouraging their talent and musical self-confidence to grow in a safe, supportive environment. A collaborative partner with the Virginia Mason Voice Clinic, she also teaches experienced singers who have either hit plateaus and would like to rise to the next level or who have sustained vocal injury due to lack of proper training. These students include actively performing professional singers, musicians and actors in a variety of music genres. While residing in Washington State, Carolena has worked with students in private sessions from the areas of Centralia, Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater, Dupont, Steilacoom, JBLM, Lakewood, University Place, Tacoma, Poulsbo and Seattle. She is now also teaching online voice lessons across the U.S. Skype to students from as far away as North Carolina, Arizona and Chicago.
