Champion Sports Medicine is located on the ground level at the new, state-of-the-art Ortho Sports Center on the campus of St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham, AL . The staff consists of world-renowned physical therapists, led by Kevin Wilk D.P.T, that specialize in non-operative and post-operative care of a variety of orthopaedic and sports-related injuries. Our multi-disciplinary staff, comprised of physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, athletic trainers and certified strength & conditioning specialists, is committed to working closely with our patients and athletes to return them to the highest level of activity possible after injury. The rehabilitation program may include: Manual Therapy Techniques Spine and Extremity Joint Mobilization / Manipulation Vasopneumatic Compression Ultrasound/Phonophoresis Iontophoresis/ Cold Laser Therapy/ T.E.N.S Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation. We accept referrals from a large variety of physicians (from primary care to surgical specialists) across the country and work closely with your physician to provide the best rehabilitation programs possible for our patients by developing and individualizing a pre-operative, post-operative, and non-operative rehabilitation program. Through the close relationship with the American Sports Medicine Institute, the staff also performs clinical research and data collection to advance research in the area of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation.
