It all started in 1988 when we took a stained glass class at a local stained glass shop. We took several classes and set up a studio at home to make gifts and pieces for our home. Shortly after that, we started to do custom work and repairs for friends and coworkers. Then, we decided to do craft fairs to help our now beloved hobby pay for itself. When our instructor got older, he approached us about buying his business, so we did. We bought his inventory and opened Designer Stained Glass in Acushnet, Massachusetts, in January of 2000. Our first class started in 2002. Since then, we have doubled our inventory. Today, our owners have amassed more than 13 years of stained glass experience. Working with and teaching stained glass has been very fulfilling for our husband-and-wife team. Like our founder always tells his students: "You are only limited by your mind. If you can imagine it, you can build it."
