• Looking for programs to better your education? Are you looking for training programs that gives you employment? EASTCONN is a public, non-profit, regional educational service center. EASTCONN was created in 1980 under Connecticut General Statute 10-66a. EASTCONN exists to provide high-quality, competitively priced educational and related services to 36 member Boards of Education and 33 communities they serve in northeastern Connecticut. Governed by the Board of Directors, who are members of locally elected Boards of Education. Funding comes from the fees charged for services, supplemented by competitively awarded grants and contracts. Free classes and programs will help you progress towards your goal! EASTCONN offers personalized classes and supported independent study programs to help you achieve your dreams. EASTCONN offers three different options for adults, 17 and older, who are seeking a high school credential: the GED diploma; the Adult High School Credit Diploma program; and the National External Diploma program. Learn English for Free! Both beginner and intermediate ESL instruction is offered to students, 17 and older, with some English skills. The program offers instruction in beginning reading, writing, listening and speaking. These courses will cover writing notes to your child’s teacher, business and personal letters, filling out checks and forms, as well as basic employability skills. EASTCONN offers community classes such as: Theater, Music, Fashion, Creative Writing, Photography, Zumba, Dance, Cooking, Fun classes for kids, Employment & Training, and much more! EASTCONN offers free American Citizenship classes to prepare adults to pass the American Citizenship Test. EASTCONN focuses on questions used by the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS). Students have a better chance of becoming U.S. citizens, thanks to free practice tests. EASTCONN, Hampton, helps you fill out INS test forms and applications.
