  Before you install the sod, it is important to prepare soil. Rake your area in order to grade it and remove rocks and level the surface. When the sod is coming in, make sure the soil is damp but not too wet.
  
  After you have installed, wait a couple of weeks to begin proper yard maintenance:
  
  
• Fertilizing
  
• Mowing
  
• Regular watering
  
• Pesticide application
