• Margaret Gedde, MD, PhD, brings more than 15 years of experience in holistic, non-pharmaceutical, and plant-based medicine to Gedde Whole Health LLC. Through her current focus on medical cannabis, her medical practice serves men, women, and families in and around Buena Vista and Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Dr. Gedde’s original area of specialty is pathology and research. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry at Columbia University in New York City, graduating cum laude. She earned the graduate degrees of Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy (in Biophysical Chemistry) at the Stanford University School of Medicine in Stanford, California. Dr. Gedde then completed residency training at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and received board certification in Clinical Pathology. She then completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of California at Berkeley and was appointed a Howard Hughes Medical Institute postgraduate physician fellow for this work. At the end of her fellowship, Dr. Gedde pursued a career as a pharmaceutical development director. Between 1999 and 2003, she served in various roles, including senior scientist, director, and principal consultant. In 2003, realizing that patients can greatly benefit from non-pharmaceutical therapies, she left the pharmaceutical industry to open Gedde Whole Health, LLC, a holistic, integrative clinical practice with a focus on plant-based, non-pharmaceutical therapies. Since 2010, Dr. Gedde’s practice has focused on the use of cannabis to help men, women, and children treat specific conditions, reduce medications such as opiates and improve their overall quality of life. She is expert in use of cannabidiol (CBD) and other cannabinoids for management of pediatric epilepsy. She accepts patients of all ages, from infants to senior citizens. Located in Chaffee County, Colorado, her clinic serves patients from across Colorado and from other states as well.
