Piano Lessons- At Hoffman Academy, our strength is helping students not only achieve a high degree of ability at the piano, but also fostering a life-long love of music and piano playing. Our piano teachers all use an innovative and highly successful piano curriculum which quickly builds an impressive repertoire of piano songs that children love to play, while also developing proper playing technique, as well as rhythmic, aural, and note reading ability. Students receive a rich exposure to many styles of music including classical, folk, jazz, and movie themes, and are also encouraged to develop their own musical creativity through improvisation and composition. Each student is provided multiple opportunities to perform each year at our semester recitals, Academy events, and Come Together Week classes held twice each semester. Guitar Lessons- Learn to play the popular music you love on the guitar! Guitar lessons at Hoffman Academy provide a great balance between having fun playing awesome music, while also providing a solid foundation in music theory, including rhythms, staff reading and tablature. Students learn proper guitar technique and style from an expert teacher, while receiving many performance opportunities throughout the year. Lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, interests, and skill level, from beginner to intermediate. Voice Lessons- At Hoffman Academy, you can learn effective and healthy techniques for beautiful singing with an experienced teacher who will help develop your voice to its fullest potential. Our teachers use proven techniques and vocal exercises to help develop a free, resonant, and beautiful singing tone. In combination with teacher-selected repertoire chosen for optimal vocal development, students are allowed to pursue the styles of music they enjoy, whether it be classical, folk, pop, or Broadway musicals. All students receive regular performance opportunities at multiple Academy recitals and events held throughout the year. About the Director- Joseph Hoffman began playing the piano at age 6.
