Janet Barsanti established J. Mode in 2007 after working for large retail corporations and nonprofits as a buyer and merchandise manager for many years. J. Mode’s mission is to offer the best kind of shopping experience in fashion. The Boutique is known for It’s individuality in fashion collections, quality customer service with amazingly caring associates who truly help you find your fashion style. Some of the brands offered include: Vince, Nicole Miller, 3 Dots, Velvet, Tracy Reese, Chan Luu, Johnny Was, Joes, DL Jeans, Bailey 44, Diane Von Furstenberg, Equipment, CP Shades, Tai, and Autumn Cashmere. New collections arrive daily. When Janet is not helping customers look their best, she enjoys going to the New York fashion shows and pulling together the collections for the up-coming season for her store. She is an avid reader and belongs to a women’s book club group. She loves to travel especially to Italy or the beach; her favorite spot is Wingersheek Beach where she often enjoys having dinner on her boat. Janet has two daughters, who, although have their own successful careers, often help her at the boutique. And she is not the only Salem business owner in the family. Together, Janet and her husband own Victoria Station, a restaurant favorite of both locals and tourists alike. Born in Ipswich, Janet resides in Hamilton with her husband of 30 years. The North Shore is her heaven on earth.
