Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 1975. Following dental school, he specialized in Oral Pathology at the Los Angeles County/University of Southern California Medical Center (Oral Pathology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, including cancer, that occur in and around the oral cavity). After his specialty training, Dr. Calhoun spent three years as an Assistant Professor at the USC School of Dentistry. In 1981, he and his wife Gloria moved to Lompoc to begin their general dental practice. The first office was small, and it soon became apparent that it would be necessary to move into a larger space. That opportunity came in late 1983 when the Mission Professional Building was constructed, conveniently located one block from the Lompoc District Hospital. Dr. Calhoun and his staff are proud to offer a relaxed, casual environment where you can feel comfortable, all while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Our office manager, Carrie, has been with us for 15 years and is very knowledgeable in dealing with all insurance matters; our Dental Hygienist, Alicia, has worked in our office for 20 years and provides exceptional dental cleanings and instructions for improved home care; the Dental Assistants, Lori (10 years) and Pam (8 years), are well- versed in infection control as well as making each patient feel relaxed and comfortable.
