  • At Joann Blessing-Moore, MD Inc. patients of all ages have access to high quality care for allergies, asthma, and other immunology conditions. Joann Blessing-Moore, MD and Rani Maskatia, MD provide expert and attentive care to patients from throughout the Bay Area with practices in San Mateo and Palo Alto, California. Dr. Blessing-Moore is board certified in Allergy, Asthma and Immunology for Adults and Children. She is also boarded in Pediatric Pulmonology. Dr. Maskatia is also board certified in Allergy, Asthma and Immunology for Adults and Children and Rheumatology. The doctors provide a wide variety of services including skin tests for food, drug, insect and environment allergies, food and drug challenges, contact testing for sensitivity to chemicals, metals and other agents we are exposed to, tympanometry, pulmonary testing (spirometry, eNO), as well blood tests to evaluate immunological/allergic genetic and individual issues. Patient Education is a major issue and they are involved in national as well as local school and community educational programs. Dr. Blessing-Moore was trained at Stanford and on full time faculty in Allergy, Pulmonary Department at Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital and continues on medical staff at Stanford University Hospital and Lucille Packard Children's Hospital. She is also on staff at Mills/Peninsula Hospital and El Camino Hospital. The practice is focused on clinical care programs but is also available for hospital consults. Dr. Maskatia trained at Baylor Medical Center and worked on Baylor faculty with the Veterans Hospital. She is new to our area and services with Dr. Blessing-Moore to cover consults with the above facilities. Both physicians have done research work, published and been involved in eduational programs in their area of medicine. Clinical research projects with the newest medications are a routine part of this practice and patients can be be involved or at least learn about the latest advance in allergy, asthma, pulmonology, and immunology. Dr. Blessing-Moore is one of the editors of the national guidelines and is very up to date on national and international treatment issues. Dr. Blessing-Moore and Dr. Maskatia provide customized care to adults and children. Once diagnosis is complete, the physicians provide action plans to provide the best treatment for quality of life including work, home, and social needs. They focus on improving their patients’ overall health with guidance on exercise, sleep, diet, and weight maintenance. New patients are currently being welcomed by the practice and most major forms of insurance are accepted. Dr. Blessing-Moore and Dr. Maskatia look forward to meeting you soon and working with you to improve your health and wellbeing. This clinic provides: 1) Individualized care for adults and children. 2) Personal action plans so the patient can understand and have the tools to provide the best treatment for quality of life with awareness of work, home and social needs. 3) General health plan that provides help with exercise control, sleep control and weight control. The team is available by phone and has two local offices in Palo Alto and San Mateo. They work with Primary Care Physicians, Family, Teachers and Employers as needed.
