About Us

• I have twenty years of experience in the hair and beauty industry. A graduate of Cosmetology School in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I began my career working for Louis Schmidt, a former International Coiffure Award Winner. After Louis Schmidt’s retirement I moved to Arizona. During the next six years I had fun working on an assortment of events. These included Elle magazine photo shoots, several on location movies, working with local artists and the Biltmore Hotel with major fashion shows, sports and wedding events. In 1996 a family crisis brought me back to Michigan where I started working for Salon Enterprises, Inc. Mentored by Max Matteson, Master in the Beauty industry and The U.S.A. National Hair Association Team. With my motivational skills I was soon managing all eighteen locations as the Regional Styles Director for the entire corporation. Technical training, correcting customer complaints, and motivation were the top priorities on my list. I organized and participated in television commercials, judged competitions, and was the President of the Artistic team that released photos throughout twenty two countries. I attended many private motivational and technical classes nationally with well known artists and mentored my employees on these programs. Due to my husband’s employment transfers we relocated to Chicago Illinois, Boca Raton, Florida, High Point, North Carolina, and now we have settled back in Arizona where I am currently managing my own business (KBL Studio L.L.C). I have been professionally trained in Wella Koleston Perfect in New York City. I have attended many advanced training seminars including, but not limited to, Disney Keys To Excellence which is certified by the Disney Institute. I have trained in Chicago, New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, and Phoenix. If it’s Creative Hair Color, Precision Cutting, Coiffure Designs, Hair Extensions, Color Correction, or Teaching, I have a strong passion for what I do. I desire to learn more everyday. Earlier in 2012, we took the 1st place title of Supreme Salon of Arizona in the first ever Hair Wars competition. This title helped us advance to the Hair Wars World Championships on December 2nd, 2012 at the “W Hotel” in Scottsdale, Arizona. On December 2nd 2012 I, along with other artistic J Salon members competed in the Hair Wars World Championships at the “W Hotel” in Scottsdale, Arizona. We took First Place for the second year in a row! This was a tough competition and we congratulate all of our competitors for bringing out the best in us.
