Soo Bahk Do is a traditional martial art, tracing is linage far back in recorded history. The techniques we teach are taken from Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Philippine sources. Our founder, Grand Master Hwang Kee, began teaching Soo Bahk Do 70 years ago, and since that time we have undergone both natural change as well as remaining true to our history, tradition and philosophy. The Moo Do (virtues of martial training) philosophy that guides our worldwide art remains as our founder intended, and centers about peaceful relations between people, forged in our dedication to, and love for, the art we share. Soo Bahk Do welcomes all people: men and women, boys and girls. Training programs reflect all ages and physical as well as other special needs. We train with partners, not opponents. We teach with discipline and respect, and with support and smiles. Within our art, we are all working to see each of us progress, and you will find this much the same whether you train here with us, or at any of the hundreds of studios located around the world.
