  • Northwood Deaconess Health Center (NDHC) is a not-for-profit health care complex, which was founded in 1902 as a hospital. The facility currently consists of a 12-bed hospital, a 46 bed nursing home, a 10 bed Alzheimer unit, 5 Basic Care beds, 10 independent living apartments, and 6 assisted living apartments. Its services include emergency care, acute care, long term care, respite care, adult day care and rehabilitation. NDHC serves approximately 10,000 people in its service area. Northwood Deaconess Health Center not only has a long term care facility and a critical access hospital, but offers other accommodation choices for those who are more independent with their lives and do not require a high level of care. The Rehab Department offers a wide variety of services, including: physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, outpatient pediatric therapy, In-school pediatric therapy, outpatient cardiac rehab, outpatient pulmonary rehab, athletic training, home care physical and occupational therapy, summer sports enhancement program, lymphedema management, ergonomics (i.e. work station set up, lifting techniques, etc.) work hardening/conditioning, custom made orthotics, and restorative aide services.
