I am Tiffany Shank: a Labor Doula, Childbirth Educator and Student Midwife. I graduated from Sacred Mountain Midwifery School in November 2012. I also completed my Doula training with the SMMS Doula Program. I am certified in Adult CPR, Adult First Aid, and Neonatal Resuscitation. From 2012 to 2013 I apprenticed as a student Midwife with a Certified Professional Midwife , I assisted her with prenatal visits, taught Childbirth Education Classes in her office, and attended births with her as part of her team. To continue my education and reach my goal to become a Midwife, I am currently enrolled in the Associates of Science in Midwifery Program at Midwives College of Utah. I plan to graduate in December of 2016 and begin practicing as a Midwife in the state of Virginia after I obtain my License. In the spring of 2014 I began working with another CPM at Barefoot Journey Midwifery. While I work part-time as a doula and part-time as a student midwife, one thing remains the same, birth is a special, transforming event, and I am honored to be a witness to the birth of new life. I serve families who are located in the Shenandoah Valley area as well as Northern Virginia.
