As a Reading Specialist; I always go the distance!!! My goal is to work with students to strengthen their love of reading and to support readers who have Dyslexia and Specific Language Impairment problems.

Parents are entitled to a detailed reading report of their child's reading and schools often do not have the time to issue a comprehensive reading report. However, I am able to do this by issuing a wide range of assessments for your child or student. Once the assessments have been completed; I begin to look for the learning style of your child or student and thereafter, I create an Individual Education Plan which brings in the Auditory, Kinesthetic and Visual Readers. I do this by creating props and scripts from Reader's Theater. Further, I implement a lot of poetry with repetitious phonemes. Reading comprehension is imperative to understanding the text; thus, I allow for a Child's/Student artistry to emerge, as they create visual aides to assist in comprehension. Lastly, I reinforce writing skills daily by teaching structural analysis and utilizing graphic organizers.
