Rocking M Services has been in operation since 2003, but my experience goes well beyond that. My father had his own plumbing and HVAC company in Lubbock for over 50 years and taught me the trades. While in high school I began developing my other skills in woodworking, as a serious hobby, that extended through my entire life. I put myself through the School of Electrical Engineering at Texas Tech University while operating my own HVAC business. After attending Texas Tech, I moved to the Dallas area and began a 19 year career with IBM I left IBM to start my own computer consulting business and moved to East Texas. However, after a period of 8 years I became disillusioned with corporate politics and decided to simplify my life in order to live out my dream of starting my own wood working business. Initially, my business plan was to build high quality custom furniture on commission, but I almost starved to death as demand for such work is not high in East Texas. This lack of demand forced me to modify my business plan to include the diversity of services I now provide.
