Dr. Gurney is a double board-certified internist and gastroenterologist who, with his staff, provides expert service in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. In addition to providing expert primary care services, Dr. Gurney also delivers specialized treatments for digestive issues such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal pain. He performs colonoscopy procedures to diagnose colorectal conditions and remove polyps.  Dr. Gurney also performs upper endoscopies to detect potential conditions in the upper digestive tract. Dr. Gurney earned his medical degree at the State University of New York (SUNY), Downstate Medical Center. He went on to serve his internship and residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center. He also completed prestigious fellowship training in gastroenterology at Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Gurney focuses on preventive care to help people stay healthy and lead active and fulfilling lives. He wants each patient not only to understand their health, but to take an active role in improving their well-being.
