She completed a B.A. and a Masters in Education from WV Wesleyan College and her M.S. degree in Audiology from West Virginia University. After working in a busy five office practice for five years in Sharon, PA, she returned to West Virginia in 1995 to open Senior Audiology, LLC. Later she earned her doctorate degree from A.T. Still University in Mesa, AZ.
