About Us

  • The Silver Fox is the largest, most comfortable and safe charter vessel on the western end of Lake Superior. She measures 40′ in length and 14’6″ wide. Because of her size, we are more stable on the water in all conditions. There’s plenty of room to move around and relax, and more importantly — to catch fish!

We are based out of Barker’s Island in Superior, Wisconsin. We fish both Minnesota and Wisconsin waters of Lake Superior. In the springtime the Wisconsin side of the lake is great for top and mid water Lake Trout and King and Coho Salmon. As the season moves on and the fish go deeper the Minnesota water of Lake Superior is where we find the big Lake Trout and Salmon.

With this family-run charter, you’ll know who will be operating the boat and working for you, trip after trip, year after year. Greg and Eileen refuse to make work out of fishing and do not play the numbers game like multi-boat charters. They only offer one trip per day, so you can customize your trip by adding extra hours to half-day charter trips or extend it into a full day of fishing.

Unlike other charters, even though The Silver Fox is the largest, safe and well-maintained vessel, they won’t risk taking you out in bad weather just to collect your money. They want you to enjoy your trip, and go fish with them again, year after year.

Captain Greg carries both MN & WI Fishing Guide Licenses, which allow him to operate the business from the Twin Ports and provide for fishing on both Minnesota and Wisconsin waters. He works closely with the MN and WI DNRs to help maintain the quality fishery of Lake Superior.
