  • Dr. Slamovits obtained his medical degree from Ohio State University. After completing his ophthalmology residency at the University of Pittsburgh, he was a Heed Fellow in Neuro-ophthalmology at Barnes Hospital and the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He returned to the University of Pittsburgh in 1980 as director of the Neuro-ophthalmology Service and was promoted to associate professor in 1985. He joined the faculty at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1988, as Director of the Neuro-ophthalmology Service. He served as Vic-chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology and Professor of Ophthalmology, Neurology and Neurosurgery for 14 years. He is currently in private practice as a consulting neuro-ophthalmologist and continues his affiliation with theAlbert Einstein College of Medicine as Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology, Neurology and Neurosurgery.
