Squier Lumber and Hardware was established in 1874 in downtown Monson and is the oldest continuously operated business in Monson. The business was operated by three generations of the Squier family with the last generation, Robert Squier, selling the business to Frank Haley in 1942. Squiers is still being run by the third generation of the Haley family. Squiers started out in 1874 selling coal, grain, and hay. We have evolved through the years moving into building materials, lumber, fuel oil and most recently into pellet stoves and pellets. We have changed our product assortment as our customer's needs have changed, however, our customer's need for value and service remains much the same as it did in 1874. We exist to fulfill that need.
