About Us

  • Born and raised in India, Dr Suchismita (Tia) Paul moved to the United States at the age of 18. She received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University with a major in Cell and Molecular Biology and a minor in Biomedical Engineering. This was followed by two years of clinical research at Massachusetts General Hospital where she had highly cited scientific publications in high impact journals including Nature and Science. She received her medical degree from the combined medical training program at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Health, Sciences and Technology (HST) Program). Dr Paul completed an internship in internal medicine at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital where she was awarded the Preliminary Resident (Intern) of the Year. She completed her dermatology residency at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital where she was selected to be one of the Chief Residents. During her residency, she received numerous awards from the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. She was the recipient of “The George Ioannides Award” in recognition of excellence in teaching dermatology residents from the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at University of Miami. Additionally, she was awarded “Resident of the Year Award in South Florida” by Medilaw firm out of 96 nominations for resident physicians from various medical specialties throughout South Florida. She has authored several scientific publications and book chapters and has also volunteered in medicine in multiple countries including Haiti, India, Kenya, Canada and the United States. Dr Paul is Board Certified in Dermatology. She treats patients of all ages from infants to adults. Dr Paul’s clinical interests range from general dermatology including acne, eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo to complex medical dermatology such as bullous diseases, vasculitis/vasculopathy. She strongly believes in skin cancer prevention and early diagnosis with appropriate treatment. Her clinical expertise also includes surgical dermatology as well as cosmetic dermatology including botox and chemical peels. She likes to stay up to date with new emerging therapies and technology within dermatology and uses biologic therapies for psoriasis as well as eczema. When not in the office, Dr Paul enjoys running, hiking, travelling and spending time with her family.
