The Merit School offers programs for Kindergarten, First through third grades, Before and After School care in addition to Winter, Spring and Summer Camp Programs. The classrooms are fully equipped with the latest in educational materials, books, toys and games. The classrooms are extra large with streaming natural light. The campus features a swimming pool, soccer field and basketball courts.
The Kindergarten curriculum offered at the Merit School includes Scholastics’ Kindergarten Place, Handwriting Without Tears, Sentence School, Saxon Math and Hands on Science. The First through Third Grade curriculum is from Benchmark Literacy, Saxon Math, Science Harcourt, and Social Studies a Child’s View.
Extended Care is offered for elementary students for the convenience of families in the public school district. Schools serviced are: Kate Waller Barrett, Hampton Oaks, Winding Creek, Park Ridge, Garrisonville, Rockhill, Anne Moncure, Anthony Burns, and Winding Creek Elementary Schools and H.H. Poole, A.G. Wright and Rodney Thompson Middle Schools. Extended Care students are provided a nourishing breakfast and afternoon snack. Hours of operation are: 5:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
