About Us

  • The Palace Theatre, a 1,580-seat Thomas Lamb designed vaudeville house, was acclaimed as “Connecticut’s Most Magnificent” when it opened in 1927. It was restored and re-opened in 1983 for live entertainment, music, dance, theatre, children’s programming, comedy, opera, and concerts, plus art exhibitions in the Sackler Gallery.

A multi-phase Palace Improvement Project has already provided The Palace Theatre with a deeper (larger than Broadway-size) stage, new dressing rooms, wardrobe and costume maintenance facilities as well as other technical support facilities and improved services.

The UpStage area at The Palace recreates a New York City club-like setting, and features music-artists and comedians in a relaxed atmosphere with specialty cocktails, craft brews and food from local downtown restaurants. The Pitney Bowes Learning Center, adds a another fantastic space for arts education programs, meetings, and more.

In addition to a full season of cultural and entertainment events, The Palace is also home to the Ballet School of Stamford, Connecticut Ballet, Namaskaar Foundation, Stamford Symphony, and Stamford Young Artists Philharmonic.

The Palace Theatre also has unique spaces available for meetings and event rentals.
