•  ABOUT Castanaro Dental  John Castanaro, DDS, is a general and cosmetic dentist serving patients at Castanaro Dental in Yonkers, New York, Dr. Castanaro followed in the footsteps of his father and joined the practice in 2009, carrying on the family tradition. Dr. Castanaro earned his bachelor’s degrees in biology and philosophy from the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania. He then received a master’s in biology from the University at Buffalo in New York, before graduating cum laude from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Afterward, he completed a residency at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City, where he served as chief resident and became skilled in cosmetic and implant dentistry. He stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in dentistry and continues to partake in advanced technical seminars to further his education. Dr. Castanaro believes in providing patients with the best technology and care to improve their oral health. Dr. Castanaro is currently a clinical professor at Mount Sinai Hospital. He is also a Trustee of the Yonkers Board of Education and a member of Mayor Spano’s Health Advisory Board. He was awarded the Top Doctor Award from 2017-2019, Top Dentist New York State in 2018, and Andus Gala Honoree in 2019. Outside of the practice, Dr. Castanaro has participated in mission trips to Mexico, where he performed dental exams, restorations, and extractions for orphans. He has also given lectures on techniques for treating acute dental trauma to military support personnel in Kuwait and Qatar.
