Dr. Cole graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a double major in mathematics and philosophy. He graduated Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia and then did his residency in internal medicine at New York Medical School and his gastroenterology training at UCLA. Following his training he went into private practice but was on the teaching faculty at UCLA for many years. For the past 16 years he has returned full-time to UCLA in the Santa Monica area. There, he is the director of the Gastroenterology Lab. While his clinical practice is in general gastroenterology his main interests are in inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome and disorders of the esophagus. He is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.
