Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology? I loved the intellectual challenge of internal medicine, but also liked doing surgical procedures. Gastroenterology fit both. Do you have a specialty of interest within GI? I do not have a specific interest, as I enjoy all aspects of Gastroenterology. Where did you study? I did my Medical school training in Arizona and my internal medicine training and gastroenterology fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center. I then taught gastroenterology at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center. What certifications do you hold? Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time? We love to travel, hike and fish. Do you have any special honors or recognitions in your medical career that you would like to share? I am a Fellow in the American College of Physicians and a Fellow in the American College of Gastroenterology. Do you fluently speak any other languages in addition to English? German.
