Ford’s Seed and Plants was founded in 1920 by W. T. Ford. His granddaughter Ruby Carson continued his legacy until her death in September 2015. Today, Peggy and David Long own and operate Ford’s and have carried on the tradition of exceptional customer service started all those years ago. After 29 years at the nursery, Peggy is committed to the mission that Ford’s has maintained since opening in 1920. The Longs are keeping that same hometown vibe that has welcomed customers for nearly a century. People shop at Ford’s because they know they can trust the experienced and knowledgeable staff. We differ from the big box stores because here, you can always trust there is someone to help you with your selection, and give you advice on each plant or seed’s proper care. We also work with different suppliers than big box stores, and while we do carry more popular seeds in bulk, much of our supply focuses on more unique seeds and plants that you can’t find anywhere else in the area. In addition to our seeds and plants, we also sell some seasonal items, potted plants, home and garden accessories, and plants for certain occasions in our gift shop. We are proud to have kept the same neighborhood store feel and personalized service that have kept our customers coming back year after year.
