About Us

  • With Holland Hurst Inc., you're getting an experienced, respected contractor who can handle your asphalt job from the grading through paving. Whether it's a driveway, parking lot, or county road, our locally owned company will give you a durable, cost-effective surface that stands up to the elements. Call us today to learn more. We're fully insured and bonded, and we offer service guarantees. Why is asphalt replacing concrete as the top paving choice for the Denver area? Asphalt will serve you well because of its durability and cost-efficiency. An asphalt driveway is flexible enough to withstand the weather, while concrete's friable nature means it risks breaking up. When installing your asphalt driveway, site preparation is one of the most difficult and critical operations. You'll definitely need a specialist since it takes special heavy equipment and expert knowledge. Rely on our insured and bonded team to get your driveway installed properly. Ice melt and salts can damage concrete, and gravel won't stay in place when you plow the snow away. An asphalt driveway is easier to plow, and the sun will warm the surface and finish the job! Pound for pound, asphalt is the most recycled material in the world. Your beautiful new asphalt driveway contains product that was once part of other driveways and roads. You can feel good about that! You'll also feel great about our full service guarantee! In 1991, Ken Holland and Tory Hurst started Holland Hurst Inc. with just a dump truck and a tractor. Starting out as a driveway grading company, it soon became apparent that there was a big demand for paved driveways, and from there the business took off. In the years since, Holland Hurst Inc. has become the Denver area's asphalt specialists, having paved more than 10,000 driveways. Our locally owned company has also paved parking lots, fire stations, county roads, and church parking lots. With each new project, our reputation for excellence has grown along with our experience. Call today to take advantage of our paving expertise. From grading to new paving, all of our high quality work comes with a service guarantee. The square foot price varies based on the size and scope of the project, as well as your location relative to the asphalt plant. Usually, you'll have to wait overnight before you can drive your vehicle on your new asphalt surface. However, the hot summer sun can heat the asphalt to a point that can cause surface blemishes if you're not careful. When turning around in your newly paved driveway, make sure to remain in motion while turning your steering wheel. If you see a power steering divot in the asphalt, use a short 2x4 and hammer to pound the asphalt back down. But don't worry too much: this surface blemish should disappear over time. Try to avoid having commercial vehicles (UPS trucks, concrete mixers, tractors, and skid steers) in your newly paved driveway. The safest time is early in the morning, when the asphalt is coolest; however, we recommend leaving up caution tape to keep these vehicles off your new asphalt. Unfortunately, Holland Hurst Inc. can't warranty any damage caused by commercial vehicles. The thickness of the pavement has a major impact on the structural integrity of the surface. That said, anything over 3" of compacted hot asphalt is overkill for a residential driveway. Anything less than 3" will shorten the lifespan, unless you're overlaying an existing driveway. For driveways and parking lots that get a lot of commercial vehicle use, we strongly recommend hiring an engineer to advice on the base course, asphalt thickness, and installation guidelines. If you're in an area with expansive soils and you want to prevent cracking, we require that you hire an engineer to design your pavement installation plan prior to getting an estimate and/or installation. Since 1991, Holland Hurst Inc. has provided high quality asphalt paving services for the Denver-Evergreen area. In that time, our fully bonded and insured company has built a long list of satisfied customers who have come to appreciate the advantages of having their driveway or parking lot graded and paved by asphalt specialists. Below you'll find a list that represents only a small portion of our satisfied customers. We hope to add your name to the list!
