• Chukwuemeka Onyewu, MD, is one of the nation’s leading plastic and reconstructive surgeons. He commits himself to excellence when treating patients at Jamachi Plastic Surgery in Silver Spring, Maryland. The “real Dr. O,” Dr. Onyewu is a seasoned professional and a board-certified plastic surgeon who has performed thousands of procedures on men and women who want to enhance their beauty, correct defects, and improve function. Dr. Onyewu graduated cum laude from Boston University at the age of 19 and went on to attend Boston University School of Medicine as a Commonwealth Scholar. He completed his general surgery residency under Dr. Lasalle D. Leffall, Jr., at Howard University Hospital, where he earned both the intern of the year and chief resident of the year awards. He then went on to Georgetown University Hospital to do his plastic surgery fellowship under the direction of Dr. Scott Spear, a former president of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Onyewu offers comprehensive plastic surgery services but has a special interest in body sculpting with liposuction, fat transfers, as well as breast surgeries, including augmentations, reductions, lifts, and reconstruction. He is also passionate about helping out those in need and has co-founded the Sustainable International Medical Missions (SIMMS) as a result.
