About Us

  • Meet Dr. Albala Pain management physician Maurizio Albala, MD, takes an integrative approach to care at his two offices in De Pere and Appleton, Wisconsin. He has over 42 years of experience in the medical field, and has more experience with pain management and spine conditions than other specialists in his area. Dr. Albala graduated from the University of Milan/Faculty of Medicine and Surgery Medical School in 1978. He completed multiple residencies and a fellowship throughout Europe before relocated to the United States. He became a resident in anesthesia at Harvard University’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Following his residency, he became a junior fellow and intern in the Department of Cardiac Surgery at Harvard University’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He then completed a residency in anesthesia at the same institution before becoming a fellow in cardiac anesthesia at Harvard University’s Massachusetts General Hospital and Children’s Hospital. He rounded out his medical training with a fellowship in pain management at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital at Tufts University in Boston. Dr. Albala is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiologists in both anesthesiology and pain medicine. Throughout his medical career, he has worked in a variety of settings throughout the world in outpatient and inpatient settings. He stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in his field and is an active member in may professional and scientific societies, including the American Society of Regional Anesthesia, American Interventional Headache Society, American Neurmolutation Society, World Institute of Pain, American Society of Ketamine Physicians, and Massachusetts Medical Society.  Dr. Albala has trained residents in anesthesia at the University of Pennsylvania, and volunteered his expertise to lectures, research publications, and books. He also volunteers in a number of organizations and events, including pain treatments volunteering in Honduras and anesthesia treatments volunteering in Colombia.   Get In Touch
