Providing emergency care to patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week, MelroseWakefield Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine is fully staffed with emergency medicine physicians, nurses and specialists. On-site emergency diagnostic services are available, including: CT scan, MRI, X-ray and laboratory testing. MelroseWakefield Hospital is designated a stroke service hospital by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health meeting exceptional standards of care. When emergency cardiac care is needed, MelroseWakefield Hospital specializes in cardiac catheterizations (a life-saving procedure that opens blocked arteries and limits heart damage) at the MelroseWakefield Cardiovascular Center.
