  • Rudy Navarro, MD, is a skilled orthopedic physician. He provides patients with state-of-the-art treatments and exceptional results at Ortho San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas.  Dr. Navarro grew up in San Antonio. He’s proud of his city’s work ethic and is passionate about promoting health and fitness to his hometown community — especially those in underserved populations. He attended Central Catholic High School, where he played tennis, volleyball, soccer, basketball, lacrosse, football, and track and field.  Dr. Navarro received his undergraduate education at the University of Texas at Austin in Austin, Texas, and earned his medical degree from the Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at the University of Texas Health San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas. He briefly returned to Austin to complete a residency in family medicine before relocating to Albuquerque, New Mexico. There, he pursued his fellowship in primary care sports medicine while working with the New Mexico Lobos intercollegiate football team at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Navarro is double board-certified in primary care sports medicine and family medicine. In his work at Ortho San Antonio, he uses cutting-edge technology like musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging to evaluate injuries. He’s highly skilled in treating a wide range of conditions, including concussions, fractures, tendinitis, muscle injuries, and other movement-related injuries. He’s also adept in several treatment modalities, including physical rehabilitation, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections, stem cell therapy, and non-operative bracing. When he’s not working, Dr. Navarro likes to spend time with his family and to cheer for the San Antonio Spurs, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Longhorns.
