• When First Baptist Christian Academy announced in the spring of 2012 that it would be closing, Lisa and Al Burns were devastated. Not only for their girls who would not be able to attend the school that they loved and enjoyed, but also for the wonderful preschool teachers. Out of determination and love for the tremendous efforts of these teachers, the Burns decided to join forces with these amazing teachers and form Sprouts Learning Academy. Their experience in providing child based services and the reputation of these teachers made a winning team. Upon finding the location and site for the school, a preschool and day care facility was developed to create the Premier Preschool and Child Care Facility of Seguin! We pride ourselves in the qualities that separate us from other choices you have for your childcare. We believe in the importance of early childhood education and are excited to share a new and premier form of education for your young children. Al and Lisa Burns are the proud owners of Sprouts Learning Academy, the premier Christian Preschool and Childcare Center in Seguin, TX. Lisa had a vision to create a Preschool and Childcare environment that mirrored the quality care children get in their own home. Being a mother of seven children, she understands how essential it is to find a nurturing environment where children can feel loved and encouraged to explore their world. Education has always been important Al and Lisa. They both excelled in High School, where they first met. While Al spent two years in France serving a Christian service mission, Lisa completed her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business. Upon his return they were married. Lisa gained valuable experience managing several businesses and Al lived out his boyhood dream of working as a licensed pyro technician and attending college and later Dental School at the University of Nebraska. The family moved to Seguin to open Alligator Dental, the first pediatric dental office in the area. Al and Lisa fell in love with south Texas and the Seguin area. They quickly decided this was the place to call home and raise their children. Their love for the community prompted them to open both Mixed Pickles Dance Studio and Sprouts Learning Academy – to provide places for children to learn and grow. Lisa is a very busy mom who balances home, serving in the community in many capacities, and running their businesses. Al is an active and fun dad who balances servicing the little teeth of Seguin and teaching at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Together they are committed to building a community where their children and the children of the community can thrive. They commit to the highest standards of childcare and education and to making Sprouts Learning Academy the premier Christian Preschool and Childcare Center in Seguin.
